Workshop „Sex-Power-Violence – A queer approach to the debate on sexualized violence and its entanglement in power structures“

The workshop criticizes the fact that (left-wing) discourses on sexualized violence do not and cannot grasp queer perspectives. It will focus on the relationship between power structures and sexualized violence and how these structures regulate and standardize gender and sexuality.

What does trans*misia and the fight against it have to do with antifascism? (SoKü)

This time, the input to the SoKü will deal with painful figures on the oppression of trans* people, forms of right-wing instrumentalization of the discourse around trans*, connections between trans* discrimination and antisemitism, fascism and bourgeois society.

But it will also be about the emancipatory potential of queer feminist struggles – the fight against all forms of oppression and for a good life demands our solidarity! Patriarchy and fascism go hand in hand! We must connect the struggles!

SoKü stands for solidarity kitchen (sometimes also KüfA = kitchen for all) and is supported by various collectives in Jena – on Mon. 13th by PIZZA-KOLLEKTIV. The location will only be shared informally for reasons; if you don’t know where to find the SoKü, please contact us in advance at kontakt.taw.jena@systemli.org .

Lecture and discussion „Trans*hostile narratives – an approach“

If you look at the arguments of trans*hostile actors or are exposed to them, you will always encounter the same narratives. And this is largely independent of whether they are presented by left-wing, feminist, religious or right-wing trans*phobes. The lecture will trace the most important of these narratives and explain how they deny trans* people and gender non-conforming people their gender and physical self-determination and turn them into ‚crazy people‘, seduced people, string-pullers, ‚abnormals‘, monsters and intruders, murderers of women and rapists.
All of this bears no relation to actual trans* people, but reveals a lot about those trans* enemies and the social norms and images they draw on. The lecture is intended to provide an approach to the socially widespread phenomenon of trans*phobia and make it possible to recognize trans*hostile arguments as such and offer approaches for a critical theorization.

Queer space for getting to know each other, connecting, chatting and crafting

We want to meet to spend an afternoon together making zines, exchanging and getting to know each other, drinking tea or playing games. We want to create a safer space with acceptance and openness where we take care of each other. The space is open to all people who find themselves in the term queer.
There will be snacks and ideas for activities and a small program: Lino printing, things to make zines or collages yourself, pearls for necklaces and bracelets (but there is no compulsion to craft). There will also be an awareness team and childcare (in the same room). The room is wheelchair accessible, barrier-free and all gender toilets are available.

Lecture „Overlooked, forgotten, denied: a history of the persecution of trans* and/or gender non-conforming people under National Socialism“

Jako (no pronouns) will use documented examples of individual trans* people in German-speaking countries to shed light on the realities of trans* life. Starting with the year 1870, psychiatric discourses, the Weimar Republic and finally details of Nazi persecution will be discussed, including the homosexual memorial in Berlin Tiergarten, the debate about the persecution of lesbian people and other topics that Jako and other people encounter in the subject area.
The second part will deal with the denial of these National Socialist crimes. Among other things, anti-trans* actors spread misinformation and claim that trans* and/or gender non-conforming people did not experience repression under National Socialism. Understanding and analyzing the situation at that time and the current denial of these crimes is important for understanding anti-trans* and anti-queer ideologies, which are currently gaining momentum, for example in the context of the social debate about the Self-ID-Law.

There will be room for questions and discussion after the lecture.

If you would like to receive content notes in advance, you are welcome to contact us.
